Module 1 Description: Bridging the Gap: Exploring the Patient Perspective and Breaking Barriers to Access – Panel Discussion
During a heartfelt and impactful panel discussion, three medical cannabis users, along with their caregivers,
shared their expectations and experiences accessing medical cannabis for pain, post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), and pediatric epilepsy. Despite coming from different backgrounds, they reported common
experiences of exhaustion from multiple failed treatments, encountering resistance and stigma within the
healthcare system, and needing to advocate strongly for their own care.
Module 2 Description: A Patient's Perspective and Ongoing Challenges with Patient Access
This panel discussion explores a patient’s perspective on healthcare access, highlighting ongoing challenges in navigating treatment pathways, system barriers, and gaps in timely care, while emphasizing the need for improved support and patient-centred solutions.
